I'm buying an oil radiator heater....what's a good brand and price? thanks!?

Be aware that there is nothing about these that will save you money. Sure, they heat up and stay warm for awhile, but the amount of heat they produce is exactly the same as any other type of electric heater. 3.413BTU's per watt of electricity. All electric heat is 100% efficient, whether it's oil filled, ceramic, resistance wire, toaster or heating pad.

The only advantage to portable electric heaters is that you can move them to where you are, and just heat that area. They can save you some money if you turn down the heat in other areas. However, it your ';other'; heating system is efficient, and uses a cheaper energy source than electricity, you might not save any money unless you turn your central heat WAY down.

I wouldn't waste my money on one of these. Radiant heaters are better, because you can aim them at what you want to heat and feel warm while the rest of the house is cooler. The oil filled type work by warming up the air around them by contact with the air (conduction) then that warm air rises to be replaced by cooler air (convection)
