I would have the radiator and cooling system pressure checked (inexpensive) to learn if there are any internal leaks.
If you have an automatic transmission keep in mind the oil cooler for the transmission most likely is inside one of the two radiator expansion tanks. If it has a cooler like this - two cooling lines one in and one out have the radiator removed and pressure check the transmission cooler inside the radiator expansion tank.
Be prepared to invest in a new radiator if it leaks. The cooling system should also be flushed and cleaned with a new thermostat and pressure cap. Call as many auto parts stores for a radiator as you can. An OEM (origional equipment manufacturer) price will give you heart failure. My cars keeps over heating its drinking water like its out of fashion and i think theres oil in the radiator?
There are a number of things it could be. First thing you need to do is drain a bit of oil from the sump, and if it looks like mayonnaise, then you've got a badly cracked cylinder head gasket. If there's no mayo in the sump, then check the radiator expansion tank cap, and if there's mayo sticking to the underside of that, then you've also got a busted cylinder head gasket. I have an E36 3 series, and my water problems came from a tiny stone chip on the radiator, which squirted water at high speed out the front of the car, and it got gradually worse. Also, if you forgot to put antifreeze in the water over winter, it could be your heater matrix has split, which would make the car steam up inside.
If the engine is the one they call the small six they suffer from H/Gasket problems at about 100K, they also suffer from cracks in the head, the former condition is aggravated by running the engine without antifreeze in it, (good quality antifreeze is needed summer and winter to stop electrolytic corrosion) using water indicates head gasket, oil in water indicates a possible crack in the head.
Any misfiring ? It is possible, if the car has a watercooled oil cooler, that the matrix has split and is allowing the water into the oil. Either way, you should not even consider running or driving it. Once the water gets onto the main bearings, you will have virtually killed the engine off as the repair costs will be horrendous.
it sure sounds like the headgasket, check the oil filler cap for a white substance (known as either frotthy coffee, or milkyway effect) if it is present, check the dip stick, if it is present there then go to a garage and ask for a brether test ( these are usually free) if the liquid turns blue on the breather test then you either have a split gasket or a warped head,,,it will cost approx 拢400-拢500 in a garage,
i hope this helps...
It sounds like you have a head gasket problem..check your engine oil for signs of water or a milky colour...check your rad with the engine running to see if there are air bubbles.. replacing a head gasket could be expensive..when your engine is running look for a white smoke{steam coming out the exhaust pipe...good luck
You need to stop driving the car and have it check out immediately. If water get into the motor, it can do major damage and may have to replace the motor too. It happen to me once, very costly !!!!
sounds like you have a blown cylinder head gasket.dose it blow water out of the radiator when the engine is rev ed up with the radiator cap off?if so it is the cylinder head gasket
Check the oil %26amp; see if it is milky looking. If it is then treat your car as you would a horse with a broken leg. SHOOT IT!! Don't you really want a different car?
Sounds like a head gasket gone, very rare on this car. Are you sure the water pump isn't leaking? Is the engine temperature OK?
You need a new head gasket, I'm sure there is a leak in your either radiator or you water pump.
HEEEEEEEEEEEEAd gasket!
Classic symptoms.
It sounds like the head gasket has blown.
could need a thermostat. the part is cheap and not hard to put on.
id reccomend seeing a doctor, sounds like symptoms of diabetes
get your head gasket checked.
You might have a hole in the rad
i drink beer like its goin out of fasion, nowt wrong with me
