My radiator is making a weird noise like the water inside is like when water is being boiled off in oil?

The raditaor is on, the bottom is hot while the top remains cool. I am currently using a wet electric system. It is under two years old. All the radiators is fine and I have noticed it is the only one without a thermostat on the radiator. Can someone please advise us if professional help is required? My radiator is making a weird noise like the water inside is like when water is being boiled off in oil?
Sounds like you have an air lock in the radiator, if you find a small screw on the end of the rad at the top gently unscrew using a small key (available from D.I.Y. stores) as soon as the air/bubbles stop close the screw and the rad should work fine.My radiator is making a weird noise like the water inside is like when water is being boiled off in oil?
not necessarily but usually air collects in the radiator furthest away from the boiler,,,all water contains air when its heated the air is released ,it has to go somewhere and its the top of the radiator which is cold and the bottom hot,CH systems need ';bleeding';on a fairly regular basis, the radiator has no thermostat for a reason, namely if every radiator in your system had an individual thermostat then the whole system could shut down leaving the boiler running and an explosion would be the result, depends on system size whether 1 or 2 have no thermo, you need to get a radiator key/top right/or left a square screw and open it with the key,,it wont burn you as you will hear it,open screw and you hear air hissing from radiator and as soon as water starts to come out tighten the screw again, you only need to loosen the screw a couple of half turns if its hissing dont turn it too far
...................A WORD OF WARNING..................

When bleeding the air out of the radiator DO NOT undo bleed screw right out, just crack it open,. the air coming out will be followed by HOT water.Far better to ask someone who knows what they are doing to do it for you. Preferably a plumber.
Hi, Like the other answer's have said the rad needs venting, but if this occurs again seek a Professionals advice. A well installed system should NOT need venting at all. Air+Water+steel=corrosion=costly repairs %26amp; inefficiency. Hope this helps:):):)
Cold top hot botttom usually means the radiator needs bleeding. If it has water in the rad there will be a little square screw at the top right end. Unscrew it an d the air will come out, the rad will refill and the noise will stop.

Sounds like your radiator/s are needing bled. The pressure has obviously dropped in the boiler. Ensure you keep the pressure topped up in your central heating.
