What is the best electric room heater, that will heat a room pretty good. Oil-based radiator or what?

As one with first hand experience using both recently, consider this.

First of all all use electricity. Second, as a radiant heater, the oil filled radiator type are likely the least efficient. Not only does the oil have to heat up, but then IT has to heat the radiator, and in large measure the radiance isn't very far reaching.

I currently have ceramic, fan forced, but all you need do is research all, and you'll find NONE are truly economical, or efficient.

The Vornado is my favorite because it is simply a good heater! Good, heat protection, qiuck heat-up and nice looking too!http://www.vornado.com/research/heaters.鈥?/a>

If you just want to heat yourself instead, go to an antique shop and pick up a parabolic heater! Sure, that may sound like strange advice but parabolic heaters are VERY efficient (more so than anything you can buy today) and the ones (parabolic) made today are CRAP (overheating, fires, etc.) http://image.i-soldit.com/images/0075/10鈥?/a>

I've been using one for a few years now and it hasn't failed me yet!

I can set mine up to a meter away and still get too hot in front of it! Besides, they only use about 600 watts, lower than antthing I've seen made today. What is the best electric room heater, that will heat a room pretty good. Oil-based radiator or what?
I use an oil based one,,warms the room really good and when I used a electric one it really DRYED OUT THE AIR,,,,AND CAN START FIRES due to how it exposed front........
The electric heaters heat good but your electric bill will go up 50.00 on up........... just to let you know.
All electric heaters are 100% efficient. The oil base radiator gives off a slower heat. A quartz heater shines a light on you to deliver direct heat so you feel the heat not from the room air which may be cold. A kilowatt of electricity will give you about 3100 BTU from any electric heater.
That's to easy - oil based radiator heater - do the math here - radiator
