Are you able to safely use direct current on a simple oil-filled radiator type space heater that is now ac?

Can a simple 12 or 24 v (direct current) be put thru a radiator type heater instead of the original 110v ac without doing damage and safely without possibility of fire? Are you able to safely use direct current on a simple oil-filled radiator type space heater that is now ac?
1 12V or 24V will not produce much heat

2 if there are devices like a fan motor it will burn out or transformer for electronics

3 if 120V DC, the switch (thermostat) will catch on fire because DC arc is very difficult to extinguish鈥?br>

Not recommended for you

Just because you ask implies that you do not know the danger

you can use a converter (inverter ckt) that converts the dc voltage to AC voltage hence dc current to ac current .............

it would be safe as if you designed the circuit well and didnt do anything wrong in it ..............

hope it helped
no, but you could use 110V DC as long as it was a simple resistive heating element and there were no fan motors etc. the pilot light might not work since it is probably neon and is an AC device.
