All electric heaters using resistance produce the same btu's. So the cheapest and the most expensive heater using the same wattage give off the same amount of heat. Some however will give off all the heat immediately, while others such as oil filled heaters will release less heat but over a longer period of time. Note: heat pumps do not use electric resistance as their heat source so this doesn't apply to them.
