What can cause oil to get into the radiator coolant?.?

This morning when I went to check the water level on my 1989 corolla, I saw a thick, black oil like substance. I din't know where it had come from. I want to try to fix it but don't know where to start. Any help is well appreciated. What can cause oil to get into the radiator coolant?.?
If you have transmission cooler lines to your radiator or engine oil cooler lines to radiator, chances are that cooler inside radiator develop leak inside and contaminating your coolant. What can cause oil to get into the radiator coolant?.?
Ben is correct, if it is oil. Be sure it is not ATF [assuming an automatic transmission] check to see if there is coolant on the trans dipstick; if so the radiator ATF tank has cracked. Don't drive it until repaired!
A cracked head or bad head gasket.
I would say it is a blown head gasket. the coolant runs in jackets around the engine. the oil lubricates the engine. the head gasket keeps the two apart.
blown head gasket in waterjacket
Blown head gasket
the thing is broken and take to the dealer or any shop to fix it up
Yes a broken head gasket will do this, go to a radiator shop and they can perform the necessary test for you.
